The works here are only the latest from 2012 on. They represent only a very small portion of a life engrained with visual arts. Arius grew up in galleries and in homes with art studios with friends of family all professional artists from the time he was born. While the current work may or may not seem simplistic, it's embelished with hundreds of creative milestones that have lead here. It's grown darker...Colors have been replaced with hues, paints with ink, canvas with paper, definition with abstraction and so on. One might say that visually, as represented by the work, a life in the pacific northwest has taken its toll with a tendency toward dark and cloudy.
